The
Context
Moksha Pottery is a woman-led studio pottery brand rooted in the philosophy of affirmations, positivity, and slow living. The objective of this project was to design an ecommerce experience that reflects the calm, intentional nature of handcrafted pottery while introducing visitors to the meaning behind each piece.
The challenge was presenting handcrafted pottery not just as products, but as objects with emotional and mindful value. Traditional ecommerce layouts often focus on grids and quick transactions, which can dilute the story behind artisanal craftsmanship.
The approach focused on structuring the website as a narrative journey rather than a product catalogue. Through immersive visuals, poetic microcopy, and process storytelling, users are gradually introduced to the philosophy of slow craftsmanship—from raw clay to finished pottery.
Key sections such as the pottery creation process, affirmation-driven product presentation, and exclusive drops were designed to deepen emotional engagement while still guiding users toward clear purchase actions.
My
Role
I was responsible for the complete UX and visual design of the website. This included defining the information architecture, designing the homepage narrative flow, structuring product discovery, and integrating storytelling elements that communicate the brand’s philosophy.
Special attention was given to balancing calm, editorial aesthetics with ecommerce usability—ensuring product details, commissions, and exclusive drops remain accessible while preserving the mindful tone of the brand.
