The
Context
House of Aura is a modern jewellery brand built around the idea that premium jewellery should feel effortless and wearable for everyday life. The objective of this project was to design an ecommerce experience that communicates luxury and confidence while remaining approachable and intuitive for modern shoppers.
The challenge was balancing the aspirational nature of jewellery with the need for clear product understanding online. Traditional jewellery ecommerce often relies heavily on dense product grids and filters, which can overwhelm users and dilute the brand’s visual identity.
The approach focused on creating a calm, editorial browsing experience where jewellery is presented through curated collections, mood-driven storytelling, and clean visual hierarchy. Product discovery was structured around curated edits and visual storytelling rather than overwhelming filtering systems, helping users explore pieces through style and mood.
A key interaction introduced in the experience is the “On the Ear” module, allowing users to preview earrings in a worn context. This helps solve a common challenge in jewellery shopping—understanding scale and fit—while maintaining a visually elegant interface.
My
Role
I was responsible for the complete UX and visual design of the ecommerce experience. This included defining the information architecture, structuring product discovery through curated collections, and designing product pages that communicate materials, styling, and wearability.
Particular attention was given to balancing editorial storytelling with purchase clarity, ensuring users can explore the brand visually while still accessing key information such as shipping, returns, and packaging details.
